Look everyone, I have lots of rep points. And lots of posts. I wish to bring attention to these two attributes of my account, because it lets me validate my existence. Please pay attention to my post count and reps, I will feel much better about myself if you do. I can go on talking about it for pages and pages. I can also talk about your rep points and post count. Everytime you pay attention to my post count and reps, I rub a kitten against a television. Thanks.

We haven't had an attention-seeking reps-related thread in quite some time now, I am only performing my duties as a CCer.

I don't find the 'reputation' idea very good.

Sometimes I solve a problem staying awake all night, but the thread starter doesn't care to post a reply or give a reputation.
On the other hand, sometimes I just post a 'try this' suggesitions and get 3-4 reps for that !

For me, the satisfaction I get by solving a problem and the friendship of forum members, that counts most.
